our process
From Earth to Everyday Object
Every Paloma Pottery piece begins with terracotta clay.
It's shaped by hand, decorated, dried, fired, glazed, then fired again before it's ready to leave our South Tottenham studio.
We work exclusively in terracotta, allowing us to keep our glaze firings almost 200°C lower than stoneware glaze firings, while creating pottery with the warmth, texture and character we love.
Small differences in form, glaze and finish are part of the process. No two handmade pieces will ever be exactly alike.
